It is a large restaurant, very interesting deco. Bronze heads of animals, I’m guessing probably the 12 Lunar Animals.

Each large tables comes with 2 electrical hot plates in the middle of it.

A sheet of paper is laid on each one, we tried to remove it, but I’m guessing it’s used to protect the plate? So we won’t mess it up? Easy clean up? Probably those reasons. We kept trying to remove it anyway. Thought we were being “helpful”.

Our side dishes arrived 1st. We have a cold bean curd/dried tofu skin strips salad. I found it a tiny bit salty. But it was pretty okay.

Next up we have this chewy crunchy thing in a salad. I really can’t remember the name of this dish. It has cucumbers on the bottom, you toss it around, then eat it. I quite like this one, sans cucumbers.

Time for simmer pot! We ordered the fish and pork ribs. This is one of the stack. Very efficiently done. All parts of your pot comes in separate tidy boxes.

A little garlic butter is placed in the middle of the pan.

Then vegetables, dates, carrots, etc…

On top goes the meat. In this picture, the pork ribs.

Some seasoning…

.

Simmer away!

.

While that’s happening, the sauce is being mixed up right next to us. I love table side service! It’s always so awesome to watch.

Top it off…

Coriander and cilantro, more simmering….

Mix it up!

..

Eat up!

We ordered a few more additional toppers, like noodles and vegetables, LOTUS ROOTS, tofu…

Once we are sort of done with the dish (most of the meats and vegetables are gone), soup and these additional toppers would be added to the pot.

Simmer… More simmering, keep on simmering stuff…

.

While that one is being done, in our other pot, we asked for the soup and noodles to be placed into that. Noodles is made of pieces of dough that is stretched out table side. It’s fun watching!

Put it into the pot that soup has been added to…

More simmering… And enjoy!!

Here is a “sort-of-summary”…

20140131-075302.jpg

.

It is a process. It really does take a really long time, so go when you have time to spare. Actually, we were there at 6 and out by 8. For the 5 of us, it was $20 each… If you would like to make reservations, it has to be for a minimum of 5 people.

Most importantly, enjoy!
Happy Chinese New Year!
