China Republic – Sydney

Located at World Square. This is a fairly new restaurant, and there’s talk about the expensive renovation costs for this restaurant. I can see it there. It looks amazing.

This post is long over due. This dinner was from 1st February, and I have returned to China Republic another 2 times after (additional photos at the bottom of the page). Just putting it out there! It’s a wonderful place for a romantic night out, or to take clients or even girls night. Fine dining Asian cuisine seems to be getting quite popular recently.

Look at the interior private rooms!

We start the meal with a lemon basil chicken. Very tender, reminds me a little of how Hainanese chicken would be.

Fish in spicy soup. It little too spicy and numbing for me. But the fish is well prepared.

Oh, my favourite dish of the afternoon. Sweet sticky pork ribs. Crisp skin, tender meat that slides off the bone.

Update: return visits to China Republic to try more food!

This is a spicy eggplant. I’ve never been fond of eggplants, the girls like it. I’m totally spiced out at this point.

Beef, tender tender beef! Spicy, yes! But I liked it. Enjoyable!

Dessert is always a plus in my books. Love dessert. And this is particularly lovely. A walnut frozen dessert with a bowl of most delicious mango ice cream and sago dessert in coconut milk! Love it.
