What do I think of food – December 2013
There are 2 types of people. People who eat to live and people who live to eat. I would like to think that I am the latter. But most of my friends who agree that they are probably the former. I have no problems with that of course. Most of them are happy to eat whatever I want to eat, and finish my food when I can’t (free and extra food for them!)
Most importantly, food is best eaten in good company. Have you ever went to restaurant with the most amazing food but no one is really talking, people are simply looking at their plates? Makes the whole dinner just quiet and awkward doesn’t it? No matter, on the other end of the spectrum, there are the people who appreciate (or hate in unison) the food placed in front of you, you will still eat it anyway! Or at least pick on bits that are good. But conversations are amazing.
There’s also the cultural differences between eating quietly and talking through the meal. But of course it is universal that, when a lack of a better topic, discuss the current meal, similar meals or good/bad meal experiences. When all fails, talk about the weather.
Food is to be enjoyed! With the right people, it is even better. Even if the food is bad, as long as we all agree we had a great time, that’s the most important of all!
